Firm & Partner Profile

Peter Creaghan, CLU

Peter's keen interest in and expert knowledge of specialized funding strategies is a key contributor to the success of our clients' business transition planning-and, by extension, to the success of Creaghan McConnell Group Ltd.

Peter heads up the Design phase of our planning process, which helps our clients prioritize their most important business succession goals, understand the financial implications of those goals, and explore funding options. This process helps answer important questions such as: "How will the next generation settle up with each other when we're not here?" "How can we assure our financial autonomy and the success of the business?" "Where will we get the money to pay taxes and other transition costs?"

In designing the optimal funding solutions to our clients' succession goals, Peter and the design team utilize an array of specialized strategies they have developed to minimize the costs of achieving these goals. Peter's extensive experience in structuring customized insurance and financial solutions provides a double benefit to our clients - it allows them to continue to grow their businesses and at the same time address the key capital needs of their families.

Peter is a graduate of St. Michael's College, U. of T. (1982), where he majored in philosophy. He is a charter member and served as Chair of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) in 1999, and has served on many other industry and community boards. Peter and his wife Sara have three children and live in central Toronto.
